Prime Maintenance Information for Metal Products
Our handcrafted metal range hoods are made from high-quality materials and finished with protective coatings designed to enhance durability, preserve the surface appearance, and protect the natural beauty of the metal. However, even the most durable finishes require proper care and maintenance to maintain their elegance and performance over time.
To ensure your custom metal range hood remains beautiful and functional for years to come, please follow the recommended cleaning and maintenance guidelines below. Proper care will help protect the finish, prevent surface damage, and preserve the unique character of your handcrafted range hood.
Preparation: Turn off and disconnect power to the hood, and ensure both your cooktop and hood have cooled completely before beginning any cleaning.
CLEANING
• For regular, simple cleaning, use mild NON-ACIDIC liquid detergent or soap and water and a very soft non-abrasive cotton cloth; other cleaners are not necessary. We recommend a PH-balanced liquid dish soap such as Ivory, avoiding harsh detergents such as Dawn/Palmolive, etc.
• For occasional deeper disinfecting, a non-abrasive, non-corrosive cleaner may be used, such as diluted Simple Green.
• Keep your range hood clean and dry by wiping it down and removing all excess water each time it is used with a soft cloth. After cleaning, be sure to dry the metal range hood thoroughly to prevent water spots and streaks from forming on the surface.
• For hood insert cleaning, if the range hood liner (stainless steel) looks splotchy, use a stainless steel cleaner to clean the surface of the hood insert. Avoid getting cleaning solution onto or into the control panel, Follow directions of the stainless steel cleaner, CAUTION: Do not leave on too long as this may cause damage to the hood finish.
MAINTENANCE
• For metal range hoods with lacquered or protective finishes, applying a high-quality protective wax every 3–6 months is recommended, depending on usage and environmental conditions. Wax products suitable for metal surfaces, Beeswax or Honey Wax products such as Flitz Fixture and Faucet Wax (available online at Flitz.com) , are recommended to help enhance the appearance of the finish while providing an additional layer of protection.
Apply a small amount of wax to a clean, dry surface using a soft cloth, then gently buff with a clean, soft, non-abrasive microfiber cloth. Always follow the wax manufacturer’s instructions before application.
• Note: Wax may be applied OVER clean, dry lacquered metal surfaces to enhance the richness of the finish and help protect the protective coating, extending the lifespan of the surface treatment.
• SCRATCHES: Surface scratches that penetrate the protective coating may expose the underlying metal and can lead to natural oxidation or patina development, especially on copper and brass finishes.
For minor scratches on lacquered surfaces, a suitable clear protective sealer may be applied to a clean, dry area to help reseal and protect the exposed surface. For significant damage or refinishing requirements, professional restoration is recommended.
DO NOT
· Do not use abrasive materials, harsh chemicals, acidic cleaners, or corrosive cleaning products (such as Comet, Soft Scrub, acetone, bleach, or similar products) on your metal range hood. These products may damage the protective lacquer or finish, cause discoloration, and compromise the integrity of the metal surface.
· Do not use steel wool, scouring pads, or rough cleaning tools on the hood surface, as they may create scratches and damage the handcrafted finish.
· Do not allow grease, moisture, acidic substances, or food residue to remain on the metal range hood surface for extended periods. Prompt cleaning helps prevent staining, discoloration, and potential damage to the finish.

1. Remove the hood filter and grease container.
2. Regularly clean every 3-6 month in dishwasher or soap in the sink with dished soap warm water
NOTE
• As natural metals, materials such as copper and brass may experience subtle changes in color, tone, and patina over time. With regular use, your metal range hood may develop a warmer, richer appearance, which enhances the unique character and handcrafted beauty of the finish. Protective coatings help preserve the surface and minimize unwanted oxidation.
